A new law came into effect on 1 July 2007, banning smoking in enclosed public places in England. This was introduced to protect employees and the public from the harmful effects of second-hand smoke.
It is a requirement that all premises where the public or staff have access to display a NO SMOKING sign which incorporates the no smoking symbol. As a minumum requirement, a sign should be displayed in a prominent position at each public entrance to your premises.
